SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Nearly a 3rd of Brazilians disapprove of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, placing the leftist chief at about the identical degree of unpopularity as his right-wing predecessor Jair Bolsonaro throughout the first three months of his presidency, a ballot cited by the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo confirmed on Saturday.

Lula, who took workplace in January after narrowly defeating Bolsonaro in an election final October, has the approval of 38% of Brazilians, with 29% disapproving of his efficiency, in line with a Datafolha survey.

Bolsonaro, who served as president from 2019 to the top of 2022, by no means formally conceded defeat to Lula. On Jan. 8, barely per week after Lula started his third time period as president, Bolsonaro supporters stormed authorities buildings within the federal capital Brasilia to protest the election end result.

After about three months in self-imposed exile in the US, Bolsonaro returned to Brazil this week.

Datafolha interviewed 2,028 folks on Wednesday and Thursday in 126 cities. The margin of error for the ballot is plus or minus two proportion factors.
