(Reuters) -Walt Disney Co has laid off Marvel Leisure Chairman Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter as a part of a cost-cutting marketing campaign, a supply confirmed Wednesday.
Perlmutter had supported activist shareholder Nelson Peltz’s unsuccessful bid to acquire a seat on Disney’s company board.
The manager was knowledgeable Wednesday that Marvel Leisure, a shopper merchandise unit run individually from Marvel Studios, could be merged into different Disney enterprise models, based on the New York Instances, which first reported Perlmutter’s ouster.
